In a groundbreaking news release, the government in Denmark has started to compensate women suffering from breast cancer who had spent years working the night shift. The link between shift work and cancer is becoming more and more evident, as seen in the following news releases.

A recent article has been published in The Globe and Mail that highlights the Zircadium products and research. September 26, 2008

Mr. Shadab Rahman, a doctoral candidate at the University of Toronto, gave a presentation on behalf of Dr. Bob Casper at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Toronto on September 26, 2008. The presentation entitiled "Shift Work: The Dark Side of Light" was sponsored by Abbott Pharmaceuticals. The lively discussion following the presentation demonstrated the awareness and interest generated by the World Health Organization's December 2007 declaration that working rotating shifts was probably carcinogenic.

Zircadium is pleased to report that based on a successful Phase I clinical validation of its protective eyewear for the prevention of melatonin suppression and cortisol elevation under a simulated nightshift work environment, the Ontario Centres of Excellence for Photonics has approved funding for a Phase II work place validation study of Zircadium's protective eyewear.

Dr. Bob Casper and his doctoral student, Mr. Shadab Rahman, have prepared a paper detailing the outcome of the Phase I clinical validation results for submission to a medical research journal for publication.
